The Power Shield Plan is a warranty product that covers only the most vital components of the car, extending to the engine, transmission, drive axles and drive shaft. They are the best choice for vehicles with 200,000-250,000 miles.

The Following Parts Are Covered:

Engine: All internally lubricated parts of engine including pistons; piston rings; piston pins; crankshaft and mainbearings; connecting rods and rod bearings; camshaft and camshaft bearings; timing chain and timing gears; intake and exhaust valves; valve springs; oil pump; push rods; rocker arms; hydraulic lifters; rocker arm shafts Note: The engine block and cylinder heads are only covered if damaged by the failure of any of the above-listed parts.

Transmission: Internally lubricated parts of manual or automatic transmissions including torque converter case (only if damaged by the failure of an internally lubricated Covered Part); oil pump; drums; planetaries; sun gear and shell; shaft(s); bearings; shift rail; forks; and synchronizers.

Differential Assembly (Front and Rear): Differential housing, axle shaft, ring and pinion, bearing, bushing, washers, and all other internalparts within the differential assembly.

Turbocharger/Supercharger: Turbocharger/Supercharger housing, turbo boost valve, bearing, bushing and all other internal parts (FACTORY INSTALLED ONLY)

Cooling: water pump, radiator

Steering: Power steering pump

Additional Benefits:

Rental Reimbursement: We will provide reimbursement for a rental vehicle from a licensed agency in the event of a Breakdown. We will pay up to THIRTY FIVE (35) dollars for every FOUR (4) hours or portion thereof of approved labor time to complete the Covered Repair (maximum THREE (3) days). The first FOUR (4) hours of labor time for any Covered Repair does not qualify for reimbursement. This coverage does not apply to service or parts delays or other time delays beyond Our control or that of the repair facility.

Roadside Assistance: This Limited Warranty includes membership in the Auto Knight Motor Club. As a Member of the Plan, all emergency roadside assistance benefits are available to you up to the ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100) per occurrence benefit limit without any additional payments. Members are responsible for any non-covered expenses over the per occurrence limit. Each Covered Vehicle will be permitted an aggregate (total) of benefit occurrences that are covered by the Plan of up to THREE (3) covered occurrences under the SIX (6) month Membership Plan. Your membership will begin on the date shown on this Motor Club Membership Registration, the “Plan Effective Date”, and continues for the number of months indicated in the “Plan Term Section”, unless canceled. This Membership is not transferable. All Plan Service(s) are provided by Auto Knight Motor Club Inc, with administrative offices at 1009 N Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, CA 92262. In the event that Service is not obtainable through Auto Knight, upon Your written request You may receive a refund of payments made for Services received independently according to the coverage limits outlined in this Agreement. You must first contact Auto Knight for authorization to obtain independent services. You have the right to file a compliment or complaint by submitting a written letter to our Membership Department at 43100 Cook St, Ste 200, Palm Desert, CA 92211; contacting a representative by calling toll-free (888)983-3583; or via our website at www.autoknight.com. All of the emergency roadside assistance benefits of Your membership are described herein and are applicable throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, it is important that You understand this is a Motor Club Membership, and except in Wisconsin, this is not an automobile liability insurance contract; and (2) this is not an physical damage insurance contract. The following Service(s) are covered emergency roadside assistance benefits, subject to the ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100) per occurrence limitation and the aggregate covered occurrences limitation: (1) Towing Assistance: When towing is necessary, the disabled Covered Vehicle will be towed up to TWENTY FIVE (25) (unloaded/loaded) miles to the nearest qualified service facility. (2) Battery Service: If a battery failure occurs, a jump start will be applied to start the covered Vehicle. (3) Flat Tire Assistance: Service consists of the removal of the Covered Vehicle’s flat tire and its replacement with the inflated spare tire; if no spare is available, Vehicle will be towed to nearest service facility (under the limits of the towing benefit). (4) Emergency Fluid Delivery Service: An emergency supply of up to THREE (3) gallons of gasoline, oil, fluid, and water will be delivered to the Covered Vehicle if the covered Vehicle is in an immediate need. You must pay for the fuel or other fluid when it is delivered. (5) Lock-Out Assistance: If Your keys are locked inside the Covered Vehicle, Auto Knight will provide for assistance gaining entry to the Vehicle.

Unfortunately, some of our clients have bought a new extended service contract with the full knowledge that their vehicle is already in need of expensive repairs. This practice is all too common in our industry, and it only causes a headache for everyone involved – insurance provider and claimant.

First, we would like to say: We get it. No one expects a car breakdown or costly repair, and sometimes, paying to get the car back in running condition is financially impossible. That is why we offer great plans to our clients – so that accidents like these do not send people into debt or disruption. But if your vehicle has a pre-existing condition, and you intend on buying a new extended service policy to pay for the repairs, then we advise you take a step back.

An extended service contract is designed to pay for problems that might occur in the future, not to repair problems that already exist.

To protect their customers, extended service policies do not go into effect until the end of a mandatory grace period. Typically, this period lasts for 30 days AND 1,000 miles. After the contract is purchased, the vehicle needs to drive at least 1,000 miles, and at least 30 days need to pass before the contract will take effect. All damages suffered to the vehicle during the grace period are also not covered. The grace period is intended to be a detractor to would-be criminal activity.

Additionally, any claim made within 90 days of enrollment will be scrutinized by the insurance provider.
